A word from Anne-Marie on Earthen Ceramics

I wanted these pieces to have a tenderness to them, even in their weight. A generous belly, a softened edge, a crevice that makes you want to look inside. Clay carries the grounding presence of the earth and has an extraordinary ability to hold a gesture. You feel the hands of Mugly.NYC long after the making is done.

–Anne-Marie Barton

The making

Earth, shaped by hand

Clay holds the trace of its making. In the Earthen Ceramics collaboration between AMB and Mugly.NYC, generous curves and softened edges become vessels, trays, and candlesticks with a presence you can feel.

Utah Clay and Powder reveal different sides of the same idea: objects that feel unearthed, personal, and entirely at home.
