The collaboration · AMB × MUGLY.NYC
Ilona Golovina
Anne-Marie Barton and ceramic artist Ilona Golovina, the maker behind MUGLY.NYC, share a love of objects that feel unearthed: generous forms, irregular surfaces, and a beauty that leaves room for the unexpected.
Earthen Ceramics brings Anne-Marie’s affinity for the Utah landscape into conversation with Ilona’s sculptural approach to clay. Vessels, trays, and candlesticks carry that exchange into the home, each holding the presence of the material and the hand that shaped it.

The making
Inside the MUGLY.NYC studio
At the worktable, clay is pressed, shaped, and slowly coaxed into form. Ilona’s hands leave their own rhythm in every curve and edge, giving each piece a character that cannot be repeated exactly.
Sketches, studies, and finished pieces sit alongside one another. The studio is where the collaboration becomes tangible: earth and ideas finding their final shape.
The pieces
Earth, in two expressions
The warmth of Utah Clay. The softened light of Powder. Rounded vessels, shallow trays, and candlesticks bring a sculptural presence to everyday rituals, inviting flowers, candlelight, or simply a moment of looking.
